Our Mission 

 

​Suntree Language Academy's mission is to provide an enjoyable, safe place to learn another language through immersion and study with the support of teachers with native-level fluency.​

​

Whether it's in our preschool, one of our K-5 after-school programs, a summer camp, or one of our private or group all-ages classes, thoughtful instruction from our teachers is designed to immerse language learners (no matter their proficiency level) and to give them the skills they need to communicate in our diverse world.

Suntree's courses are designed around their participants, which means you'll learn material tailored to your needs!

Why learn Euskera (Basque)?
​

The Basque language, or Euskera, is a one-of-a-kind language that is very present in the Treasure Valley. If you want to visit the Basque Block in Downtown Boise and order in Basque, visit the Basque Country in Europe, or talk here with people that come from all over, from the Pyrenees to the Rockies, don't miss the chance to learn and help preserve one of the oldest and rarest spoken languages in the world.

Why learn Spanish?

 

Spanish is the second most spoken language around the world, as the official language in more than 20 countries with around 450 million speakers worldwide. With our Spanish classes, you can prepare yourself for travel or business, improve your résumé, or simply expand your knowledge of a language, culture, and history shared by many of your neighbors!

Why learn French?

 

Idaho has a long history with the French language. This can be seen in the place names we're surrounded by, including Boise's name, which is where the motto "City of Trees" comes from. The language of diplomacy, French is an official language in 29 countries, (and the fastest growing in the world); it's predicted to be spoken by over 750 million people by 2050!

Why learn Mandarin?

Mandarin is the dominant language of the world's second-largest economy, and a knowledge of the language and culture can be vital to those wishing to do business in China. It is also linked with one of the oldest cultures in the world, with opportunities to learn about history and customs often overlooked in Western classrooms. There's no doubt that Mandarin is in demand!

Why learn Arabic?

 

Arabic is one of the fastest growing languages within the U.S., and is a language often overlooked within schools in the West. With language and culture so intrinsically intertwined, learning Arabic can be a chance to understand people with a culture much different from your own and to gain common ground. It's also a great chance to set yourself apart in a job field!

Why learn English?

 

If you are new to the United States, it can be challenging enough to gain stability without having to worry about language barriers! Since English is the dominant language in the U.S. in business, culture, and education, it can be vital for job prospects, the ability to find housing, and various other aspects of life in your new home to have a good grasp of the language.

Why learn ASL?
​

American Sign Language is a complete, natural language used by hundreds of thousands in the U.S. and many more around the globe. Knowing ASL opens up lines of communication with people who may not have another way of communicating with spoken language, be they members of the Deaf community or not. Plus, it's easily one of the most fun languages to learn!

Why learn German?
​

Germany is the powerhouse of the European economy, with German industry comprising a large share of the world's biggest companies. German also happens to be one of the most commonly used scientific languages in the world! With a rich literary and philosophical history, learning German allows you to enjoy the classics and to have a better grasp on many English roots.
